Football Expert Chris Sutton Takes On Singer Olly Murs in Premier League Forecasts

Arsenal's ten-match victorious streak was ended by Sunderland before the global hiatus, however will the Premier League frontrunners recover against local foes Spurs this weekend?

"{I feel like Arsenal are miles ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a plan for this game," stated soccer expert Chris Sutton.

"Frank will try to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling finest this season - but Mikel Arteta's team usually still manage to win."

Sutton is making predictions for all 380 Premier League fixtures this season, against artificial intelligence, readers and a variety of guests.

In the twelfth round, he faces singer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United supporter.

The singer's new record, Knees Up, is out on Friday.

Football and Parenting Life

Olly is a skilled soccer player as well as a successful singer and has been a featured player of several charity football matches over time - but he is not planning a serious return as a player.

"{I recently played in a benefit match the other night for a friend of mine," he said. "My side was trailing 3-1 when I was substituted in the 60th minute, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you will!

"I continue to love football, but I hurt my joint a few years ago and it still isn't where I want it to be. I wish I could play more but the unpredictability of the sport means it's too dangerous for me in my profession to do it seriously again.

"Additionally I am forty-one now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am gearing up for the moment that my daughter or boy chooses to play instead."

The singer and his spouse Amelia Tank have two children, their daughter and Albert, and he is prepared to emulate his dad by taking on the role of their manager.

"I won't push football on our kids but I've previously told Amelia that if they happen to get the passion for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will likely be managing their Saturday soccer side," he added.

"I observed my nephews play a lot, and I really got into it, and I obviously was involved with a football club for a while too.

"My father did it with us when I was a kid, which is probably where I get it from. He coached our team for several years and had great fun with it. That might be the next step for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"

Premier League Predictions

Saturday, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

Chelsea may have to be patient for their star's return from fitness issues but their attack is now stronger with Joao Pedro and Liam Delap both returned to fitness.

In my opinion this fixture will be quite tight, however. Burnley are well organised and their sole home defeats so far have been against Liverpool and the Gunners.

This suggests a one-all draw to me, but I am in fact going to choose Chelsea to edge it for what would be their third Premier League win in a row.

The expert's prediction: 1-2

Olly's pick: The Blues will be superior. 1-3

AI's prediction: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Cherries have lost their past two matches - although both of them were on the road - but they got absolutely spanked by Villa last time out which surprised me.

On the other hand, the Hammers won two in a row before the international break and, although both of those fixtures were at their stadium, they appear competitive again.

The Hammers' sole away victory this campaign came at Forest in August, when West Ham boss Nuno Espirito Santo was still Forest manager.

So, what exactly do I go with here - will it be West Ham continuing their run under their manager, or the home side responding?

I will choose the Cherries, because I think what occurred against Villa was a anomaly.

The pundit's forecast: 2-0

Olly's prediction: The home team are performing strongly but the visitors have picked up under their boss. 2-2

AI's pick: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Brentford were considered one of the frontrunners for the drop before the campaign began, but they have surprised a few people under Keith Andrews and are in good form with three wins in their past four matches.

My son told me to get Brentford striker Igor Thiago in my fantasy soccer team a few weeks back and, unfortunately, I ignored the advice.

The forward will likely score again on Saturday but I am still not going to select him or back Brentford at Brighton's ground.

They have not had much success on the travel this term, and the Seagulls are always decent at their stadium. The visitors will try to attack on the break but I think the home manager's team carry much more of a danger.

Sutton's forecast: 2-1

The singer's prediction: This could be one of those games where you expect there is going to be a lot of goals but it actually turns out to be quite close. 1-1

The computer's prediction: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

This is a huge fixture for the Cottagers, who have lost five of their last six matches.

Fulham have have plenty of quality in their squad but it nonetheless feels like they could be dragged into a relegation fight.

Regarding Sunderland, indeed they are the surprise package of the Premier League season so far.

The away side's display in the two-all draw with Arsenal last time out was excellent. We've not seen any other team rough up the North London side like that this term, and they were more than a match for them.

The logical choice to do to back the Black Cats here, because they are clearly capable of disrupting Fulham up too and, the previous occasion they were in this part of London, they beat Chelsea at the end of last month.

However I am not choose that. Instead, I truly need to continue opposing Sunderland with my predictions. I am claiming a lot of responsibility for their good results because they evidently enjoy to prove me wrong.

Considering Fulham's at Craven Cottage form, the sole side they have been defeated by is the league leaders. Their manager's team will be extremely eager for a good outcome, so I am going to predict they will secure three points.

The expert's prediction: 1-0

Olly's prediction: I know the visitors are performing strongly and additionally that Fulham are on a bad streak... but Fulham have still been decent at Craven Cottage this season. 2-0

AI's prediction: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

This is a tough one to call. Liverpool have lost seven of their last ten matches in all competitions, but might they be one of the teams who benefit from the {international break|
