The former personal attorney for Donald Trump has stepped down as the chief federal prosecutor in the state. This follows a court battle that challenged her right to occupy the role.

The head of the Justice Department, the Attorney General, accepted the prosecutor's departure on the start of the week. In a statement that the appeals court finding made it impossible for her to perform her duties.
"But do not mistake compliance for surrender," she wrote. "This battle will now reach across America."

Habba, originally became part of Trump's personal legal team in 2021. She went on to represented Trump in his New York criminal case in the previous year, leading to his conviction on multiple felony counts of financial record manipulation.
